Frequently asked questions
What is a half-yearly SIP?
A half-yearly SIP invests a fixed amount in a mutual fund twice a year, once every six months.
How is it calculated?
FV = P × [((1 + i)^n − 1) ÷ i] × (1 + i), where P is the half-yearly amount, i is the annual return ÷ 2 and n is the number of half-years. Each instalment is invested at the start of the period.
Do all funds offer half-yearly SIPs?
Not all. Check the scheme's SIP options and minimum amount before you start.
