Frequently asked questions
What is dividend yield?
Dividend yield is the yearly dividend per share divided by the current share price, as a percentage. It shows the cash income a stock pays relative to its price.
Which dividend should I use?
Add up all dividends per share declared over the last 12 months, including interim and final dividends.
Is a higher yield always better?
Not always. A yield can be high because the share price has fallen, and past dividends are not guaranteed to continue. Dividends are also taxable at your slab rate.
